John L. Woody and A.M. McLelland opened a wagon yard at 201 South 2nd Street, selling horses, mules and grain.
Woody Ford begins
John L. Woody bought McLelland's share and converted the business into a Ford dealership — the beginning of Woody Ford's century-long Ford story.
An outlaw-era footnote
Bonnie and Clyde stole a customer's Ford coupe near the dealership, adding a remarkable chapter to Woody Ford's local history.
Called to serve
Leonard Woody, the founder's son and the dealership's second-generation operator, was called to active military duty during World War II.
A new steward
Brian Butler purchased the dealership from the Woody family and retained the Woody Ford name, carrying its established Madill legacy forward.
A century with Ford
Woody Ford marked 100 years as a Ford dealership and continues serving Madill today — carrying forward its founding legacy with modern Ford sales and service.
